Ingredients: 1 cup raw rice, 6 – 7 red chillies, tamarind lump (size of bengal gram), kirla neeli (handful), salt to taste and oil for roasting.
Method: Soak rice in water for 15 – 20 minutes. Wash. Then grind with red chillies, tamarind and salt to a fine paste. Mix kirla neeli. Place dosa pan on flame.The batter should be in dosa consistency. Pour one tsp of oil and spread a ladleful of batter on pan. Pour 1 tsp oil round the edge. Roast one side of dosa for a while, turn it over and pour one more tsp of oil round the edge of the pan and roast the other side.
