Ingredients: Karathe (bitter gourd) medium size 1, onion (chopped) 1, chilly powder 2 tsps, haldi powder 1 tsp, tamarind paste 2 tsps, jaggery, ( lemon size),coconut oil 2 tbsps and salt to taste.
For seasoning:, mustard seeds 1 tsp, chanadal 1 tsp, jeera 1/2 tsp, hing powder 1/4 tsp and few curry leaves.
Method: Wash and chop karathe (bitter gourd), and apply salt, turmeric and chilli powder and keep it aside for 15 minutes. Chop onion finely. Heat coconut oil in a pan. Add mustard, curry leaves, chanadal and jeera for seasoning. Also had a littlle hing powder to it. Then fry the onions transparent. Now add marinated karathe, tamarind pulp, jaggery and little water and cook till it is done.
