Ingredients: 1 cup basumathi rice, 3 onions, 4 cloves, 2 cinnamon pieces, 2 tsps cashewnuts, 3 cardamom, 3 tbsps ghee, 2 cups hot water and salt to taste.
Method: Wash and drain rice and keep aside. Slice out onions finely. Heat ghee in a frying pan and add cloves, cinnamon, cardamom and cashewnuts, fry for a while. Add onions and fry till golden brown. Then add rice and roast it for a minute. Pour 2 cups of hot water and salt to taste. Cover and cook on low flame till done. (Sprinkle a little water over the rice if uncooked. Make sure not to over cook the rice)
