Ingredients: Basumathi rice 1 cup, paneer 200 grams, green chillies 2, cloves 2, cardamom 2, cinnamon 1 inch piece, onion 2, frozen green peas (fresh) 1/2 cup, chopped coriander leaves 1 tbsp, ginger garlic paste1 tsp, lime juice 1 tsp, ghee or oil 2 tbsp, water 2 cups and salt to taste.
Method: Soak basmathi rice in water for 1/2 an hour and then drain. Dry roast cloves, cinnamon and cardamom and powder it. Chop green chillies and onions. Cut paneer in to cubes and put salted water for 5 minutes and drain it. In a pan add little oil and fry paneer for a while and keep aside. In a same pan or a cooker add ghee or oil, put onions and fry till transparent. Then add green chillies, ginger garlic paste, green peas, coriander leaves and basmathi rice and fry for 4 – 5 minutes. Then add 2 cups of boiled water, salt and clove cinnamon powder and cook for 15 to 20 minutes in a low flame, till water evaporates. Then add fried paneer pieces and lime juice and mix it gently. Garnish with fried onions.Serve hot with raita.
