Ingredients: 1/4 ash gourd, 8 red chillies, 3 tsps coriander seeds, 2 tsps black gram dal, 2 tsps bengal gram dal, 1 tsp turmeric powder, 2 tsps thil seeds, 1 tsp raw rice, 3 tbsps coconut gratings, i big piece jaggery, tamarind ( marble size), 1 tsp mustard seeds, 1 sprig curry leaves, salt to taste, 2 tbsps oil.
Method: Roast coriander, black gram, bengal gram,rice, coconut gratings, red chillies all with a little oil till brown. Wash til seeds and roast them separately. Grind all the ingredients together with tamarind coarsely. Skin ash gourd. Cut in to pieces of medium size. Cook in a little water till soft. Add jaggery, turmeric powder and salt to taste. Mix the ground masala, adding desired quantity of water. Bring to boil. Remove from fire. Season with must hard and curry leaves in oil.
