(Green gram dhal usli)
Ingredients: 1 cup green gram dhal, 4-5 green chillies, 1 small piece ginger, 1 sprig curry leaves, 1 tsp mustard, 3 tbsps coconut gratings, 5 tbsps oil and salt to taste.
Method: Wash green gram dhal. Mince ginger. Chop green chillies finely. Prepare seasoning in frying pan, with mustard and curry leaves in oil. Drop green chilli and ginger in it. Pour two cups of water. Add salt and stir.Bring to boil. Then drop green gram dal in to it and cook on low flame under cover. Open 2-3 times and turn over to prevent sticking to bottom. When dhal is cooked remove from flame.Garnish with coconut gratings. (Note: If ginger is not used, add few drops of hing water after removing from flame.)
