Ingredients: Odi (nanchane, ragi) 1/4 kg, cashew nut bits 2 tsp, mustard seeds 1 tsp, black gram dal 1 tsp, curry leaves few, sugar 1 tsp, coconut gratings 2 tbsps, green chillies 3 ( slit), oil 2 tbsps and salt to taste.
Method: Odi soaked in water for about 1 hour and then squeezed out excess water. Then mix salt and sugar to it and keep aside. Take oil in a pan. Place on flame. When hot drop mustard seeds, black gram and stir for a while. Then add green chillies, curry leaves, cashew nuts bits and stir for 1 minutes. Then add odi and cooked for 2 to 3 minutes on low flame, under cover, till water evaporates. Then switch off flame. Garnish with coconut gratings.
